History of Kamo Ningyo Dolls
According to legend, Tadashige Takahashi, who was in charge of maintaining the Kamigamo-shrine in Kyoto, started making Kamo dolls with surplus materials. However, this legend has not been authenticated. The dolls are characterized by their small size, and fascinatingly friendly smiles. The Tachibana family currently holds more than 234 of these Kamo dolls.
